Missions

At Brookwood, we are committed to fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus Christ through and for every generation. We emphasize discipling and equipping people of every age to carry out the Great Commission.

WMU

The Women's Missionary Union leads the mission efforts at Brookwood.  We have an active missions program for children to teach them about international, US, and local missions.  We also have missions opportunities and trips throughout the year.  WMU takes the lead in planning and promoting the annual Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions, Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions, and other mission offerings throughout the year.

Local, State, U.S., and International Missions OPPORTUNITIES

Brookwood members participate in several different types of missions programs throughout the year.  Interested in going on a mission trip or doing local missions?  See your WMU Director for more information.  Here are some of our current opportunities:
  • July 9-14, 2012 Youth trip to M-Fuge in Charleston, SC
  • December 2012 Trip to the Operation Christmas Child Processing Center in Charlotte, NC

Wednesday night missions emphasis classes

The following classes are held from 7:00-8:00pm every Wednesday:

Mission Friends

How young can a child be and still learn Christian missions concepts? The preschool years. From babies to kindergartners, Mission Friends® provides the building blocks of faith and a basic awareness of God's love for all people.*  Mission Friends meets in the nursery area of the church.

Girls in Action

Girls in Action® (GAs) is a missions discipleship organization for girls. Every girl in grades 1–6 can be a part of GAs! Through GAs, girls learn about, pray for, give to, and do missions work. They also make new friends and have lots of fun!* GAs meet upstairs in room 214.

Royal Ambassadors

Royal Ambassadors (RAs) is a missions discipleship organization for boys in grades 1–6. Members of RAs learn about and pray for missions. They do missions work and give money to missions. Plus, they have a great time doing it!*  RAs meet upstairs in room 211.
